Situated amidst scenic landscape of Thimphu, on the expressway and about one km from city centre, it is built on contemporary theme and yet has a unique blend of Bhutanese architecture and modern amenities.

The hotel offers 17 standard rooms equipped with 2 single sized bed, LCD Screen with DVD attached, Mini Bar, Tea Coffee Maker, Table lap between two beds and a broad back light at the back of the bed, all walls with wallpaper cloth (silk) in different patterns, well-furnished bath room with auto heating system and Chandelier at the center of the room. The hotel also has 8 deluxe rooms with similar amenities. Hotel’s Executive Suites is elegantly designed and offer required modern facilities. 2. Gakyil

Central and Clock tower go hand in hand in Thimphu; Gakyil is situated next to the iconic Clock Tower in the center of Thimphu. 4. Amankora

Located 30 minutes from the airport, this Amankora lodge is the commencement of a path through pristine landscapes, ancient Dzongs and secluded villages.

Amankora Paro is 24-suite pine forest retreat which contrasts the rustic with the contemporary. Nearby are the ruins of the 17th century Drukgyel Dzong. The resort’s architecture features natural rammed-earth walls, gently sloping roofs and wood paneled interiors. Suites provide travelers with a king-size bed, traditional bukhari (wood-burning stove) and a large terrazzo-clad bath.

Facility include: a living room, dining room, library and outdoor terrace, all warmed by fireplaces. A welcome return from challenging treks is the Spa which overlooks the surrounding blue pine forest and herb garden. A glass walled sauna, treatment rooms with hot stone baths, yoga and meditation room are among the spa’s facilities.

1. Nak-Sel Boutique

Naksel, a community-based project that is eco friendly and Energy Saver efficient, blends the heritage of traditional Bhutanese architecture and the comfort of modern amenities. Elaborate hand-carved pillars and beautiful stonework exemplify the essence of Bhutan while tapered mud-brick walls provide insulation and restful silence.

Leading Bhutan in energy efficiency, Nak-Sel features Swedish under floor heating systems, LED lighting, and highly efficient water heaters, preheated by solar panels. Traditional windows, mud-bricks, framework and even furniture were locally crafted here in Ngoba Village, connecting Nak-Sel to the surrounding forest.

The resort is situated 20 km (13 miles) from Paro International Airport and 15 km (10 miles) away from Paro town. It is close to the major sightseeing attractions of Paro such as Tigers Nest (Taktshang Monasery), the ruins of Drugyel Dzong and local farms houses.

It has 21 guest rooms with en suite bathroom, private balcony, 42-inch cable LCD TV with premium channels, kitchenette, refrigerator, working desk and space heating. It has 8 standard rooms, 3 deluxe rooms, 2 deluxe rooms with kitchenettes, 6 junior suites and 2 villas. Bathroom amenities include shower and tub combination and rainfall showerheads. Each room is provided with bathrobes, hair dryers, slipper, hair dryers irons and ironing boards and adequate complimentary toiletries. All rooms are provided with complimentary bottled water and coffee or tea makers. Hotels provide smoking and non-smoking rooms.

Khangkhu Resort is centrally located in the pristine environment in the village of Khangkhu, 4 km from Paro international airport and 2 km from down town Paro. The site has magnificent views of Rinpung Dzong, Paro Valley, National Museum, Airport and surrounding mountains.

18 spacious luxury rooms and 2 deluxe suites are tastefully furnished offering stunning uninterrupted views and equipped with following amenities: attached bathroom with bath tub, telephone, cable TV, tea / coffee maker. Facilities include: multi-cuisine restaurant with seating capacity of 40 persons, private dining with 15 persons capacity, bar with the selection of international and local beverages, lounge, meditation centre, Sun Deck -open restaurant with magnificent view of the Paro valley. 2. Tenzinling Resort

Tenzinling Resort is an intimate, family run resort at a strategic location giving a bird-eye full view of the Paro valley with a spectacular Paro Dzong in the background. All the 21 rooms have been oriented to give the view of the Dzong. Built in the ancestral land, the resort is surrounded by a small village amidst apple orchards, and rice fields.

Hotel’s every room has a personality of its own and is meticulously appointed with unique artwork. All rooms are comfortably furnished, sunny and have spectacular views. There is shower and bath in the roomy bathrooms. The interesting features of all rooms are; view of the lush green rice fields, majestic Paro Dzong and the holy Sangchoekor temple, Blue-pine wooden floor.

PUNAKHA

1. Amankora

Situated east of the Dochula pass and just north of the impressive Punakha Dzong, Amankora Punakha is reached by crossing a suspension bridge over the Mo Chhu (Mother River). More than 85 percent of the district is forested with a mixture of conifer and broadleaf trees.

The lodge includes a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse built as a residence by a previous Je Khenpo (spiritual and religious leader). This grand structure, with its preserved vegetable dye wall-paintings, houses the dining room and intimate relaxation area as well as traditional altar room for meditation. The courtyard is suitable for outdoor dining and relaxation in Punakha’s temperate climate. Other facilities include a tea pavilion that was once the kitchen of the summer palace, and beyond is the yoga/meditation room with open views of the surrounding rice terraces and orchards. For relaxing there are the spa treatment room and a steam room. Identical in design to those of Amankora Paro, the eight suites are air-conditioned in the summer and set in an orange orchard with views across paddy fields.

One of the many highlights of Punakha is visiting the Punakha Dzong which straddies the confluence of the Mother (Mo) and Father (Pho) rivers.

1. Dhensa Boutique Resort

Dhensa Punakha sits in the heart of the verdant Punakha Valley. Flanked by thick pine forests, it overlooks the Punakha river and hundreds of paddy fields that step down to the valley floor and it is surrounded by plentiful walking and trekking trails. From Dhensa Punakha, it is just a five minute walk up the hill to the magnificent Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang Nunnery, which houses one of the biggest bronze statues of Chenrigzig (Avalokiteshvara) in the country.  It is entirely the handiwork of local Bhutanese artisans.

Our 24 suites are set in six cottages, all with private balconies.  They encapsulate the beauty of simplicity; the spacious interiors are deliberately understated in design.  In the en-suite bathrooms, guests may relax in the tub set next to a French window at dusk.

Yugharling Resort has been in full operation since our opening in 2009. With years of experience behind us we are the only 4 star resort in Bumthang with modern amenities while still maintaining the authenticity of the valley. The resort has been built on mud bricks and the exterior is mud washed with no chemicals. The intricate traditional painting you’ll see on the windows and doors are made from vegetable dyes. We strongly believe in conserving and preserving our environment and you will see this philosophy incorporated in our daily operation.
